RMS Eligibility Criteria (Class 6 & 9)
The rashtriya military school admission 2027 process is governed by strict rules, particularly concerning the reservation of seats for armed forces personnel.
Class 6 Eligibility
- Age Limit: Must be 10 to 12 years old as of March 31 of the admission year.
- Gender: Open for both Boys and Girls (Girls admitted from 2022 onwards).
- Educational Qualification: Should have passed Class 5 from a govt recognized school before the date of admission. However, a student studying in Class 5 is eligible to appear for the entrance test.
Class 9 Eligibility
- Age Limit: Must be 13 to 15 years old as of March 31 of the admission year.
- Gender: Historically open only for Boys (Check latest notification for updates on Girls quota).
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 8 from a recognized school at the time of admission.
The Reservation / Quota System
The primary purpose of RMS is to provide education to wards of defense personnel. The seat distribution is:
- 70% Seats: Reserved for wards of JCOs/ORs in Army, Navy and Air Force (including Ex-servicemen).
- 30% Seats: Reserved for wards of Officers of Army, Navy and AF (including retired) and Wards of Civilians.
- A total of 50 seats (Not percentage) are earmarked for wards of personnel Killed in Action.
